"Viewhaven has been such a wonderful place for our long time family friend and my mother-in-law. The staff takes excellent care of all of the residents, and you can feel the warmth when you enter the home. They communicate well with the family in all aspects of care. The home itself is lovely and well maintained. I can’t visit now with the COVID-19 quarantine, but I always enjoyed visiting, working on a jigsaw puzzle or just talking.

This is not like a nursing home, and it feels like a family in itself. It is easy to park in front of the home, and one doesn’t have to wear a badge to visit because they all know you. There are always two staff members on duty during the day so they know what has been going on with each resident. We are so happy we found Viewhaven.”

"My husband and I went to Viewhaven on the recommendation of Mom’s home care nurse. She was familiar with the owner and staff and thought Viewhaven would be a good match for my Mom and the nurse was 100% right. Mom moved into Viewhaven in 2018 at the age of 98 and though going from her own home to an AFH was not an easy transition, the staff did everything they could to ease that.
The staff is so caring and their mission truly is to serve the elderly. It is not just a job to them. After three years at Viewhaven, Mom has grown very close to this dedicated group of women. And when COVID locked down the house and restricted the movement of everyone, the staff remained cheerful and kind and continued to have birthdays outside with carport parties and drive-by celebrations. The house is decorated for every holiday and in pre-COVID days live music and huge Christmas parties have been enjoyed by residents, their families and staff. The owner Josie makes sure everyone is having a good time.
Josie has owned Viewhaven for more than 30 years and we marvel at her dedication. She manages to provide a safe and comfortable home with high standards while balancing rising cost of staffing, food, property taxes, etc. Not to mention, navigating state and federal regulations and associated paperwork, site visits by Medicare, pharmacy needs of residents and equipment, etc.
Speaking of, Mom has special equipment that needs daily cleaning and monthly replacement and there is always the risk of infection. In three years, Mom has never had an infection or problem with the equipment which is remarkable. This is because of the excellent care from the staffing on a daily basis and regular visits from the house nurse, Angie.

Mom celebrated her 100th birthday at Viewhaven, survived the early days of COVID-19 and is currently almost halfway to 102 years of age. We truly credit her longevity and good health to the excellent care she has received and continues to receive every day from a dedicated team.”
